The association
known as the "Persatuan Wanita Kementerian Luar Negara Malaysia". In English "The Malaysian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs Ladies Association". Its acronym is PERWAKILAN.
Aims and
Objectives
To encourage and foster a cordial relationships
among wives of officers as well as a lady officers;
To carry out educational, cultural,
social and sports activities contributing to the above;
To provide its members in their
role as wives of foreign service officers with information on etiquette, customs and traditions of Malaysia and foreign countries
with which Malaysia has relations;
To establish and develop contacts and cooperate with
other registered woman's public and voluntary organizations and individuals in Malaysia for the advancement of the objectives
of the association;
To undertake the compilation, editing, publication and circulation
of any newsletter or other printed literature for the advancement of the objectives of the association or for the promotion
of its interest of its members subject to compliance with the printing press ordinance 1984;
To
help families of members to settle down at home and abroad by requesting for better accommodation arrangements and by helping
to provide basic essentials for homecoming families of members at a nominal fees;
To
collect and raise funds for the attainment of the above objectives
Membership
Ordinary
membership opened to all wives of staff and lady staff in all categories in the Malaysian Foreign Service.
(2A) Associate
membership opened to all wives of former Malaysian Foreign Service Officers, Former Lady Officers, Wives of Military, Trade
and Education Attaches.
(2B) In Mission abroad,associate membership is open to wives and officers of non-governmental
and semi-government agencies
